Michael Hilder is a songwriter/ performer from Melbourne, Australia. A multi talented musician, Michael has spent the past seventeen years working as a vocalist, pianist, guitarist and bassist both as a session recording artist and as a live performer. Songwriting Michael has just released his debut solo album, “The Search for the Grail”, part one of the rock trilogy “The Storm”. A storyteller foremost, Michael has combined his two great loves of medieval tales and classic rock music into this 3 CD concept album which is already the most successful in his career so far. The whole concept of The Storm is to tell a story through songs, dialogue, character parts and special effects. The album is already selling internationally in Europe, America and U.K as well as solid sales in Australia. Session Musician This year has seen Michael break into the international market as a session musician and he recently performed a session on bass guitar for international act “Sisters of the Moon”. The sisters, Maddy and Nancy are well remembered for their years as singers in Blackmore’s Night, featuring Rainbow and Deep Purple pioneer, Ritchie Blackmore. Michael features on their new song “Fear” and hopes to work more with the band over the coming year. Live Performances Currently on the live circuit, Michael performs with international act “Taboo”, coming off a successful tour of America, Canada and Italy in 2006 and will feature in the world wide “Ultimate Elvis” competition to be held at Dallas Brooks Hall in Melbourne in April 2008. Michael will feature in the main band supporting the Elvis acts. He will also tour with Taboo to Italy, Germany and Croatia as part of the 2008 tour. Other As well as writing all 48 songs on The Storm Trilogy, Michael also performs most of the music himself and also wrote the complete script, screenplay and directed the actors who perform on the album. He also produced the album with Steve Harrison. |
