The Storm Part One The Search For The Grail

MICHAEL HILDER RELEASES FULL LENGTH ALBUM “The Search For The Grail”. This is the first installment of his rock trilogy “The Storm”, and is now available. Michael Hilder has teamed up with Steve Harrison to produce the album which also features numerous special guests including Chrissie Phillips who performs vocals on “Left in the Dark”, an infectious classic ballad which is destined for the charts. The song is a release from the album “The Search For The Grail”, a rock musical set in the medieval era in the Palandical Forest. Combine brutal guitar riffs, galloping bass lines & haunting piano harmonies and you have The Storm. Add to that, lyrics that are provocative yet beautiful and you have a powerful combination. It all started in the summer of 1991. Inspired by the 1977 album "Bat out Of Hell" and 1981's "Bad For Good" by Jim Steinman, Michael began to pen his own rock musical, The Storm. To tell the story, Michael combined powerful rock guitar riffs, galloping bass lines and haunting piano harmonies to give every one of his songs their own identity. Each one was painstakingly written and re-written until it fitted perfectly with each individual chapter of the story. The songs themselves vary incredibly in style, dependant on where they sit in the story line. Just try and get Left in the Dark out of your head. Michael is a gifted story teller and the lyrics on The Storm highlight that. Each individual song represents a chapter in the journey. In the main, The Storm is described through the eyes of "The Lord of the Skallion" but also features numerous characters along the way. The lyrics vary in style just as the music and this adds to the suspense. At times provocative and at other times beautiful, the lyrics to The Storm depict life in the medieval era in the land of The Palandical Forest. The script has been re-written more than several times over the past ten years as different ideas came to Michael. The script is a vital part of The Storm. The story itself is played out over two decades and is complex. The script provides more insight into the goings on and allows the songs to stay focused on the moment. It also allows Michael to gradually introduce his characters into the storyline to add another dimension to The Storm. As with every element of the album, the special effects play a significant role in capturing the drama, the brutality and the mystique that is The Storm. The battle scenes played out during the album are breathtaking along with the marching of the armies and the campfire moments. Each song is accompanied with a different by-play which captures the scene perfectly. The Storm is theatrical in every way and diligent attention to its detail has been agonized over until each effect blended perfectly with the scene.
